The MSK Center Model
The teams are modeled around two service providers and two care assistants. The two service providers are ordinarily a nurse and a clinical officer. One of the care assistants receptions while the other assists in general cleaning. Some centres however have a medical officer, pharmaceutical and laboratory technologists on need basis.
The nursing home has a much bigger team to cater for the inpatient component and has a resident medical officer and an obstetrician gynecologist.
The MSK Center Network
The 23 centres are located in major towns across county and are strategically located to serve different types of clientele with different abilities to consume healthcare services. The centres fall within three broader regional groups called clusters.
The clinics include; Kangemi, Kenyatta market, Pangani, Kibera, Kencom, Eastleigh nursing home, Naivasha, Nakuru, Thika, Nyeri, Nanyuki, Meru, Kisumu, Manyatta, Kericho, Kisii, Eldoret, Kitale, Bungoma, Kakamega, Kongowea, Mombasa, and Malindi.
Our Center team offers services at a cost to the clients. The 99% percentage of our clients is single and married women majority of who are above 25 years old. Most of the clients visiting our centers have at least secondary school education.
How we deliver services:
MSK Centres are static clinics which have qualified clinical professionals who provide a range of reproductive health services aimed at reduction of maternal mortalities caused by unsafe abortions. The following range of services are offered in our Centres:
• Pregnancy crisis counselling and post abortion care.
• A choice of permanent, long term and short term family planning methods.
• Cervical cancer screening and treatment.
• Antenatal, safe delivery, post natal and child welfare clinics.
• General consultation and primary health care services
